WILKINSON COUNTY CHRISTIAN ACADEMY

FOOD SERVICE DEPARTMENT CHARGE POLICY

Important Notice: WILKINSON COUNTY CHRISTIAN ACADEMY participates in the National School Breakfast and National School Lunch Program. Free and Reduced Meal Applications are available in the cafeteria or main office.  It is fast and easy to apply for free and reduced meals. To get started please visit the Food Service Office or call them at 601-888-6254 and they will assist you.

Elementary Level – Grades K – 6: Monthly invoices will be sent home with students who have an

outstanding balance for 5 meals. This applies to both full pay and reduced price students.

Parents/guardians may call 601-888-6254 to inquire about their child’s account.

If your child’s account is in the negative he/she will not be denied a reimbursable meal at this age level.

Due to federal regulations elementary students will continue to receive lunch meals and their accounts

will be charged even though they have an outstanding balance.

Every effort will be made to collect payment prior to taking further action. Upon reaching a ten ($10.00) dollar limit, the principal will be notified regarding further action being taken.

Middle School Level – Grades 7 – 8: Students who have an outstanding balance for 5 meals will be served an alternative meal. This alternative meal consists of: a cheese sandwich, fresh vegetable, fruit and milk. This meal will be offered until charges are paid in full or the charged amount reaches ten

($10.00) dollars. (If child is lactose intolerant a turkey sandwich will be substituted.)

Upon reaching the ten ($10.00) dollar limit a letter will be sent home asking the parent/guardian to

provide a packed lunch until the charges are paid in full. This applies to both full pay and reduced price students.

High School Level – Grades 9 – 12: Students may charge up to three (3) alternative meals. An

alternative meal consists of: a cheese sandwich, fresh vegetable, fruit and milk. (If child is lactose

intolerant a turkey sandwich will be substituted.)

Upon reaching the three (3) alternative meal limit a letter will be sent home asking the parent/guardian to provide a packed lunch until the charges are paid in full. This applies to both full pay and reduced price students.

The MDE, Office of Child Nutrition must conduct Administrative Reviews of all SFA’s participating in the National School Lunch Program at least once during each three year review cycle. WCCA Cafeteria will be reviewed int eh 2018-2019 school year.

ALL STUDENTS:

Anyone with an outstanding balance at the end of the current school year will be mailed  a final notice giving the parent/guardian ten (10) days to pay the outstanding balance or make payment arrangements . If no one contacts the Food Service Department to make a payment arrangement, the account will be turned over to the WILKINSON COUNTY CHRISTIAN ACADEMY SCHOOL BOARD.
